How Does Magnetic Shaft Coupling Work
A magnetic coupling consists of two magnetic assemblies and isolation cover. One is the external assembly (the driver magnet) and the other is the internal assembly (the driven magnet). The external assembly is connected to a motor and the internal assembly is directly attached to the pump input drive shaft. Since the internal magnet is isolated within the pump case, seals and therefore leaks are eliminated.
The coupling deflects angularly and the magnets create a force of simultaneous attraction and repulsion while the magnetic coupler assembly are working. This force is used to transfer torque from the motor to the pump drive shaft. This permanent magnet coupling creates neither slippage nor induction current during rotation.

A metering pump moves a precise volume of liquid in a specified time period providing an accurate flow rate. Many metering pumps are piston-driven. Such piston pumps are positive-displacement pumps which can be designed to pump at practically constant flow rates against a wide range of outlet pressure, including high discharge pressures up to thousands of PSI.

What is Magnetic Couplings
As one of the newly-developed coupling, magnetic coupling is for transmitting torque by magnetic components. It is ideal for torque transmitting between the hazardous inside and outside parts of the high pressure vessel. Magnetic coupling is a key component to achieve non-contact torque transmission and complete no-leakage.
Magnetic coupling is composed of outer magnetic rotor, inner magnetic rotor and isolation cover. The outer magnetic rotor is connected with motor and exposed outside. The inner magnetic rotor and the pump shaft are integrated together, and the whole rotor is contained in the pump housing and the spacer sleeve and is immersed in the transmission medium.
The spacer sleeve, which is between the inner and outer rotor, is fixed on the pump housing so that the pump housing and the isolation sleeve to be a mutually connected and completely sealed chamber.
Magnets are closely arranged along the circumferential direction on the outer cylindrical surface of inner rotor and inner cylindrical surface of outer rotor, forming a combination of push-pull magnetic circuit.

What is Injection Moulding
Magnet material can be directly molded into, onto, or against other assembly components eliminating subsequent assembly steps. This is called insert injection molding.
Injection molded magnets are available by using ferrite, neodymium-iron-boron, or blends of magnetic materials to achieve an extensive range of properties. Binder materials include Nylon 6 and 12, PPS, and Polyamide. The binders and magnetic alloys are capable of a wide range of working temperatures from below -40°C to above 180°C. The Injection molding process allows the ability to produce very intricately shaped magnets with extremely tight tolerances and a wide variety of physical and magnetic characteristics. The finished parts can be either very simple or complex in geometry.
The properties of injection molded magnets vary greatly, depending on the type of magnetic material and binder utilized. GME has both Neodymium and Hard Ferrite injection molding capability, and it is also possible to utilize a blend of different magnetic material to produce the desired properties. Several types of binder can be employed depending on the application, and we offer a variety of nylon and PPS grades to suit the specific needs of our customers.
